Today's top companies succeed by making innovation a fundamental part of their strategy. As the pace of change continues to increase and the threat of disruption becomes the new normal, company leaders need to have a focused and effective approach to innovation. Through a combination of business cases, readings, expert interviews, and on-line discussions, we will focus on the concepts of innovation and innovation management as they relate to creating an innovative corporate culture. Students will be introduced to some of the core tools and strategies companies use to harness the innovative abilities, talents, and passion of their employees. Case study analysis and exposure to thought leadership in the field of innovation are the core learning methods in this course, designed to enhance your critical thinking and communication skills.
Course Objectives:•Learn an overview of the field of innovation
•Identify and evaluate the various tools, methods, and strategies organizations use to advance an innovation strategy
•Gain an understanding of some of the challenges to implementing innovation strategies
•Enhance communication and critical thinking skills
Dr. Chad Jackson
has a diverse professional background as an entrepreneur, consultant,
and educator. Dr. Jackson has over 20 years of entrepreneurial experience
through his own startup firms and the hundreds of entrepreneurs and
business leaders he has supported through his consulting practice.
In his current role as the Jack Vanier Director of Entrepreneurship at Kansas State University, Dr. Jackson provides strategic leadership to enhance the talent pipeline in order to help build economic and social prosperity through innovation and the entrepreneurial mindset. Dr. Jackson also serves as an award winning Instructor in the College of Business Administration. His classes include: Entrepreneurial Consulting, Strategic Innovation, Social Entrepreneurship, and Introduction to Entrepreneurship.
